Though, I'm sure my gallery's been dead for much longer. It's my fault- been too busy playing The Sims 3 and attempting to save a helpless kitty from certain death.
It all started two weeks ago when I was making tea for the pair of us one evening. We'd heard mewing all day but seeing as how Dylan's decking is usually brimming over with semi-feral stray cats, we didn't think much of it at first.
It was only when we both went out to catch some air that I found a teeny little grey and silver kitten lying on an old mop head near one of the flowerpots. Poor little thing looked to be dead until I poked it lightly and it wiggled.
He(I think it was a he...) must've been about 3 or 4 days old as his eyes were still fused shut and he was so tiny he could fit into the palm of my hand. The mother cat was no-where to be seen so we took the little fuzzball inside and nursed him back to health by giving it plenty of milk, warmth and love. I named him "Squeakers" 'cause he kept making little tiny mews that grew louder throughout the night.
Ahh, the joys of 3AM feeding... ¬_> ;;
Anyhoo, the next morning, the mother cat was sniffing around the mop-head for her baby so, rather relucently, we decided to reunite Squeakers with his mother as he was still too young to be left on his own.
I'm now regretting this decision as I've seen neither hide or hair of him since.
The mother cat occasionally strolls around the decking but there's no sight of any kittens. It's highly likely that Squeaker's has been cannibalized by the various feral tomcats, starved to death or was suffocated by the fumes from when the decking was varnished by the handyman.
It's all very sad but at least I can safely say that we tried to help.
On the plus side, though, the feral cat population has dwindled down to about 6 regular visitors (out of a possible 18 O.o ) since the decking got sealed off so hopefully, this incident won't repeat itself.
Also, we might be getting a brand new kitty from the pound next week so things are very exciting. I've already bought a litterbox, scooper and a kitty collor. Dylan has an old dog bed we can use as a cat-box so all we need to get is the food and the litterbox sand.
I'll be sure to post pictures up when the new arrival comes along!
All cat-related business aside, I was horrified to hear that Micheal Jackson's died.
He was only 50 years old-still so young and with so much more to come.
I'm saddened that the very first artist I ever danced to is no longer here.
LONG LIVE THE KING OF POP
Finally, for all my watchers out in America, hope y'all have an awesome Independance Day.
Untill next time,
Adios!
